Help. 77 yr old lady with cub cadet xt1 50. Changed air filter and oil filter. No prob. Oil changed. Great but now I see line from top of gas tank threaded to air filter area loose, not attached to anything. Where does it get attached? Have looked in and around air filter area but all I see is shiny prong silver in color.

Appreciate the easy to follow video. Just wish I could get my freakin' mower to run. Wouldn't start, so I replaced the carb, fuel pump, both spark plugs and it's still just spinning and not firing up 😢

One doesn't have to go to the top of the engine for that "in case you don't have an impact wrench" piece of advice. If you look....right behind the head of that bolt you wanna remove is another structure. It looks like a really thick washer with 2 flat sides. You grab on to the flat sides with an adjustable. Doing that will keep the the shaft from turning ...and at the same time you undo the bolt with your socket. That flat sided "washer" is called a "D" something or other. Hope this helps. For me it worked great. My joy quickly dissipated when the clutch didn't slide right off like in this vid. Well it's been on there since I bought the tractor in 2001(gt235) so it's is seized on there. Off to the repair shop it goes...couldnt pry it off. At least down here in TN they will accept the new clutch I purchased from Amazon w/o a hassle.

I get the idea of the thicker deck in the X300 but you really need to recheck your thickness measurement with the dial calipers on the metal, not one-handing it with a camera in your hand and calling it a quarter inch. The dial spun a full .100" at least as you pulled it off the deck. Slow down, and take your time, dude.

If you own real Deere you can just look at the box store mowers and see the difference. l bought my first Deere in 71. It's a 110 and it is still mows today. My grandson fixed it up to like new. Old grandpa has a JD ZTURN and bought it at our local dealership. Love that machine.

Have a 20 year old L120. Did the equivalent of an airline “D” check and took it completely apart. R&Red every thing, had the frame pan & deck sandblasted & powder coated. It’s good for another 20 years.

have k fs691v that is surging. I want to check the welch plugs to see if that is isssue. Can I get to welch plug on carb without removing carb?

No matter where its made at that's a John Deere quality issue. They need better standards like back in the old days when quality was number 1 and the customer came first befor the greedy desk jockeys.

Nah best way is always compressed air and there is more passages then just the main jet that need cleaning to run well. The main jet controls the fuel mixture for high end or full throttle. For most people it will help it run pipe cleaners work good too. Dont run a pressure washer period with no water ever especially on a triple piston pump.

General hydrogear upgrade question: has anyone ever upgraded their mowers hydrogears say from ZT3100's to ZT3400's for example?

Not for nothing you have to compare the same model, that would make more sense of course different models make them different mowers or tractors depending how you look at things

I am confused, but I don't want to be labled a "Jack Ass that corrects you on your videos". I have what I feel are legitimate questions. Are you comparing Big Box store sold mowers vs company store mowers? It seems to me that if that is what the video is about, wouldn't you compare a JD L120 sold at a Big Box store to a JD L120 that is sold at a John Deere dealer. Here our JD dealers sell the same mowers that are at Home Depot and Lowes. Also, wouldn't you compare an L!20 to another, rather than an L120 with an X320. The L120 retailed for $2299 in 2005, as compared to an X320 that retailed for $4099 in 2006. To me that seems like comparing Cheverolet to Cadillac. When I worked for a Big Box store and got less expensive JD's in, they were made in Greenville Tennessee, and the more expensive ones were made in Horicon, Wisconsin. I actually asked the JD rep. "Are these made by MTD like the Troy-bilt and he said JD has never been made by MTD. I am sorry if you look at me as a jackass, but I was confused by your video.

My D155 has some normal wear and tear issues. At 255 hours,still stands almost as brand new. And I use for everything..:including caring wood,rocks,dirt,sand etc….and I abuse it,pulling over huge hills too.

i wouldnt trade my briggs for anything la 125 14 years old no issues no rust and i have a e130 4 years old awesome just not a kawasucky fan lol

Ive had my 1050 Cub for 11 years. Regular oil changes and grease the front spindles. No problems at all! And Im a bit rough on it too.

My 145 is about 16 years old. My keeper on the front of the belt doesn't have the removable three prong shroud. It's built into the frame. Just requires unbolting the engine and raising it enough to get the belt off.not a big problem, just unexpected..thanks for your video. Great job!

Love it! I have a small 12x20 work shed with no power, so I rigged up a block and tackle system that does the same thing. Not nearly as cool as your set up, but it saves this 54 year-old guys back. Lol

That's the cheap big box store Cub Cadet with the stamped deck. I have a 12 year old XT2 Cub Cadet (dealer only model) it has the much heavier 54" deck, stronger transmission, bigger tires and 26HP Kohler 7000Series engine, and it works all year round. So far just about 600 hours on it, including running the 42" 3 stage snowblower on my large paved uphill driveway in the winter and my 1.5 acre yard all summer, and other than routine maintenance (oil and filter changes, greasing spindles, etc. and sharpening blades) no issues whatsoever. When I bought it I also looked at the JD unit comparable, it was $2,000 more, had 2 fewer horsepower and a stamped deck instead of the fabricated deck on the Cub Cadet, as well as a warranty not as good as the Cub Cadet. No diss to the JD owners, but I think I made the right choice, just my opinion.

I use Slime on my mower for holes mostly caused by goat heads and it works great. And I probably use half or 1/4 the recommended amount.

The vent plugs is where I was stuck at. Thanks for the help! Ol Toro is back up and running. It's going on 20 years old and I don't think my mom ever had the filters changed. They were nearly rusted through.

Comparing an old cub cadet to current production is a farce. Current production, owned by MTD and SBD are cheap. There are better built products out there, like Bad Boy, Hustler, etc........ There are no longer any small high quality riders. JD's are improved of late..............
